Privacy notice
Last updated October 2026
This notice explains how The Landlord Desk (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit this website or register your interest in our services. We are the data controller for that data.
What we collect
- When you register your interest: your email address and, if you choose to tell us, how many properties you let.
- When you email us: your name, email address and anything you include in your message.
- When you use our registration service (once available): the landlord, property, tenancy and safety-document details needed to prepare your PRS Database registration. We will give you a separate notice covering this before you send us anything.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To send you launch updates, next steps and plain-English guidance about landlord registration rules. Our lawful basis is consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To reply to your enquiries, based on our legitimate interests in running our business.
- To keep the website secure, based on our legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the business, including our website and email host (Hostinger). They process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or for up to two years after our last contact with you, whichever is sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email hello@thelandlorddesk.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
